And man, do I need to organizer her and pay more attention to my blogs. What was not encouraging about coming back into the scene was logging on for a raid only to DC every 30 sec but only while the boss was engaged in toc 25 man. On top of that, a new hunter to the guild, recruited in my absence whispers me after a wipe and informs me that I can do better DPS if I switch to SV. Before I could tell him “No, what would help my dps would be staying in the game for more then 30 secs”, DC’d again. Now, whats so bothersome about helpful advice? Nothing. I welcome it. But not when there is an obvious reason I am not doing DPS, and that its the consent DCing, not my chosen spec(btw, I am MM). Not only that, i am fully aware of which spec is the quote unquote best spec. I am the class adviser for my guild, I have to know. My GM tells us Class advisers to never whisper someone in our class that is doing poorly. They would rather we inform the GM  that “so-and-s0″ might benefit from seeing us. That why, the GM or Officers can be the “bad guy”.  I love this system, and think that more people should first say “would you like my advice, before telling someone how they are playing the game wrong. Yes, and lot of people play the game to be the best….but alot dont care, and it may only case the player harm if you point out their flaws. The reason I suggest asking if the person wants help before giving it, is b/c sometimes the person doesn’t know they could be doing something differently, and dont mind the advice giving that way. I find this system of asking if they want the help a good method.Helpful advice is nice when you dont feel like the one giving it is trying to show off. So that un needed “help”, coupled with the DCing, pretty much made me cry. I also realized I needed to restock, re organize and get some upgrades going. With new hunters in the guild, and a new class adviser with me I have competition where I didnt really have it before. Don’t you just love how that forces you to get yourself in gear?

SO for a long time I was the only raiding hunter in my guild. This might sound weird, and even discredit my guild as a raiding one, but we had plantly of awesome dps that came from other classes. We had just had bad luck finding hunters that were half way decent or that didnt have such a horrid attitude that they ended up being kicked or leaving the guild. So for a long time it was me. It was nice being the only one, nice being one the top 5 dps in the guild too. But things have changed. There are now 3 new hunters to the guild, all of which raid on a normal basis all of which claim their hunter as their main. The competition is new to me, and while I love seeing more hunters I hate seeing them. I want to call out, “yes! hunters unite! Having you all here is awesome!” but really, it just makes me play the game more. Now I have to compete with them. Though, I should look at it as they are making sure I am on my A game. SO basically..ater complaining its time to bring the A game. At least they will make me a better player, I just cant be lazy at it anymore.

So how does one bring an A game?

Well, its time to rethink gems, enchants and other such things. Which means math >.< which mean …argh. I’ll have a post on my charater before the renevation and then after, what I did..what I changed and what I kept and why to maybe help other with their A game

First off, if you have not read the patch notes for hunters, here it is:

Aspect of the Cheetah: Can now be learned at level 16.

Deterrence: This ability now allows the hunter to parry spells and attacks from behind as well as in front. Now has a new visual spell effect.

The time that traps will exist in the world after being put down has been reduced to 30 seconds, down from 1 minute.

Frost Trap: Will no longer “fizzle” on targets immune to snare effects, however Lock and Load will not succeed when using Frost Trap if the target is immune to snare effects.

Snake Trap: The Mind-numbing Poison effect has been reduced to a 30% increase in casting time, down from 50% to match similar effects.

Traps now have separate 30-second cooldown categories: Fire (Immolation Trap, Explosive Trap and Black Arrow), Frost (Freezing Trap, Frost Trap) and Nature (Snake Trap). A hunter can have one trap of each category placed at one time.

Talents

• Beast Mastery
  • Catlike Reflexes now also reduces the cooldown of your Kill Command ability by 10/20/30 seconds.
• Survival
  • Entrapment: This talent no longer works with Immolation Trap or Explosive Trap.
  • Lock and Load: Now has a 22-second cooldown. The Lock and Load effect cannot be obtained on targets immune to snare effects when Frost Trap is used.
• Pets
  • Roar of Sacrifice: Redesigned. This ability can now be used on any friendly target to make that target immune to critical strikes, but the hunter pet takes 20% of all damage taken by that friendly target. Cooldown is now 1 minute, up from 30 seconds.

Classes: General

• All pets now receive 40% of their master’s resilience and 100% of their master’s spell penetration. In addition, if a player is at their appropriate spell hit chance or hit chance maximum, their pet will be at the maximum for spell hit chance, hit chance, and expertise. If they are below the maximum, their pet will be proportionately below those maximums.

Resilience: No longer reduces the amount of damage done by damage-over-time spells, but instead reduces the amount of all damage done by players by the same proportion.

So, yeah….

I am looking forward to the new traps system. There are so many things we as hunters are able to do with that. I mean, just for SV players alone…the whol Black arrow not being tied into with your frost and nature traps is nice.

Mostly though, I am just ready for something new. Something else for my guild to take down. Or…try to.

What I am not looking forward to is teir 9. What the hell.

I get that maybe they are going for a uniform look or something, but did they have to be so plain? I mean the hunter gear for horde is nice, its decent…but ally…they get the short end of the stick. I’ll be replacing my interesting and evil looking tier 8 for basically…”meh” Now, I know its not all about looks…I should be excited for the stats as well. I am. I cant wait to kick some ass and get that gear…but I cant help but get excited when my hunter looks evil or bad ass, and this new set will not allow that for me.

Oh well, to more important things.

Like watching the PTR trail of Champion to try and get excited about it even more.

I was watching this and got a call right in the middle of it, the music blasting…I didnt mean to answer it, but the person on the other end had a good laugh at the song and me.

So whats my problem? We cant get farther.

I love my guild, a good part are real life friends and the rest I have known since I started the game. But we are not hardcore. Which is nice, but at the same time…some of the people we let come to raids……argh.

I am all about helping people learn fights and being patient. But sometimes its so hard and all I think about is getting into a better guild. But then I remember…I am on a small server…there are like 2 to choose from. My guild is great b/c its laid back and everyone is nice to people, when there is an issue in something its dealt with in kindness. The leaders are not dicks. The 2 guilds I could basically go to on my server that would allow me to raid better are dicks. They kind of had to be. But I wish the server was big enough to have a guild that was both…really good at raiding..yet kind, fun, and understanding and laid back in the sense that the leaders dont go crazy on your ass for mistakes. Actually…is there such a guild out there on any server….I dont know.

So here is the deal. Plus I need some help:

The broken glass of this fight always influences me to do stained glass art. >.< One form of art that I have not really gotten into yet. In any case, the reason I am posting this picture is mostly because I like the looks of him and I want to inform you all that I will be starting a new wood block print with this creature as my subject. I’m posting it here for viewing when I am done. Though don’t expect it for a month. I am stuck without a block for about 3 weeks, and then I will begin working on it. Just posting this for any ideas on how I should do it. I also need to get some more Screenies of him especially in action shots.Will you, can you help!? I’ll take more each week as I face him also. :3

I have recently changed my spec again. No longer am I rocking the SV. I did some reading and it seems that the theroy is that with higher end gear, MM actually tops SV in DPS. I wasnt sure, so even though there is a semi competitive nature between me and the only other real raiding hunter in my guild, I respeced MM to see if I could pass him.

Long story short, We were going back and forth for the top DPS for not only over all but on every boss. While I have sleighty better gear, he has a Ulduar weapon, which is ten billions times better then my weak Naxx ones. He was rocking SV and I MM.  Though, Personally I saw a huge increase in my DPS, from almost touching 4k to be over 4k.

This is the rotation I use. The Chimera shot reloads the Serpent sting, so you should not have to re apply that shot. This allows you to use your other attacks. Since silencing shot also should be macroed into a shot, I put mine with Chimera since I shot that the most. I also have kill command macro. There is no other macro I recommend. Marcoing all the shots together makes dps worse.

Thankfully after doing all the heroics over again, I got down to VH which was giving me some trouble. It bugged twice and then I was busy with Naxx and school.

After a few bumps, one of which the healer manage to get us all killed but then some how with great skill finished the boss on his own allowing us to continue, we finished the instance. An odd one to finish on too and received my title. But then again, I am not complaining at least I was able to get it done. You would just think that with over 40 active players on every night you would get it in  a more timely fashion.

In any case, I got it. about fucking time. (as most people said to me when I got it)

This blog post will be about the updates in shot rotation consideration.

After a lot of research, the general consent on other blogs is this rotation:

• Rapid Fire is instant and off the GCD- use it whenever it’s up.
• Kill shot will trigger the global cooldown now. This should be used over any other shot that triggers the GCD
• Explosive shot is your main damage source. Use it over everything besides Kill shot.
• Black Arrow (don’t forget to train all ranks!!) is the way we get Lock and load to come up. It’s also a shadow damage over time spell, and will magnify all damage you do by 6%.
• Serpent’s Sting is a damage over time that still has good damage and even though it no longer has a role in lock and load it still is a good attack.
• Aimed shot (single target)/Multi-shot(multi-target) share a cooldown, and both do more damage than steady shot.
• Steady shot is  the worst shot we have. its mostly something to do when the other shots are on cooldown, better then standing there or mending your pet. You will find that you are looking for something to shot, and its a decent filler.

For lock and Load make sure to fire three Explosive shots in a row, but be careful not to cast soon after each one, and miss the last tic. about 2 sec apart I have read is a good idea advoiding missing the last tic and about 1/3 your dps

Feel free to add to this idea or make comment. but this is the general order that I have found and seems to work for me. though I will be updating after more research.
